Help with buying a used electric car in the Occitanie region
If you live in the Occitanie region and are planning to buy a electric vehicle or rechargeable hybrid, good news! The region is planning to help you buy your future electric car. This aid is available to all new buyers of used electric or plug-in hybrid vehicles purchased after 1 January 2022 from a professional based in the Occitanie region.
Officially launched on 1 March 2019, the region has earmarked a budget of €4 million to boost sales of plug-in vehicles in the region.
Who is entitled to it?
The Occitanie region's support for hybrid and electric cars is open to all residents of the region (Ariège, Aude, Aveyron, Gard, Haute-Garonne, Gers, Hérault, Lot, Lozère, Hautes-Pyrénées, Pyrénées-Orientales), Tarn, Tarn-et-Garonne). To qualify for this aid, applicants must :
- Be of age
- Prove that you live in the region
- Purchased your car after 1 January 2022
- Buying your vehicle from a professional in the Occitanie region
- Must not already have received assistance from the region for clean mobility
What does it entitle you to?
This aid entitles non-taxable households to a grant of between €1,000 and €2,000.
Good to know: aid is capped at 30 % of the acquisition cost of the vehicle, inclusive of all taxes.
To qualify, the vehicle must meet the following conditions:
- price must not exceed €30,000 including tax
- Plug-in hybrid vehicles will also have to have CO2 emissions of less than 50g/km.
- Be registered in France in the beneficiary's name in a definitive series
- Must be second-hand (at least 12 months old)
How can you benefit?
The complete application must be postmarked within 6 months of the date of purchase of the vehicle.

Regardless of how you send your application, the documents requested are as follows:
- Copy of both sides of the beneficiary's valid national identity card, passport or residence permit
- Beneficiary's bank or post office details
- Copy of proof of address in the Occitanie region less than three months old: water, electricity, gas or telephone bill (including mobile phone bill), tax assessment or certificate of non-taxation, home insurance receipt, title deed or rent receipt, etc.
- Copy of the income tax or non-tax notice for the year preceding the purchase of the used vehicle (e.g. for a purchase in September 2022, provide the 2022 income tax notice for 2021). All pages of the tax notice must be included.
- Copy of vehicle purchase invoice and vehicle registration document: the invoice and vehicle registration document must show
- the name of the applicant
- first name
- its address
- the references (model and registration in particular) and price of the vehicle (for the invoice), as well as the address of the professional seller in Occitania (for the invoice)
- Declaration of honour

Good to know: if you receive this aid, you undertake not to resell the vehicle in the 12 months following its purchase. If you fail to comply with these clauses, the region may demand repayment of the aid granted.
Help with buying an electric bike in the Occitanie region
As part of its clean transport policy, the Occitanie region has decided to grant aid for the purchase of an electric bike. From 1 January 2019, you can benefit from aid for the purchase of a new electric bike bought in the Occitanie region. This aid can be combined with the government bonus.
Who is entitled to it?
The Occitanie region's aid for electric bicycles is open to all residents of the region. To qualify for this aid, applicants must :
- be of age
- not be a legal entity
- provide proof of residence in the region
- have purchased their electric bike after 1 January 2022
- buy your electric bike from a professional in the Occitanie region
- must not already have received assistance from the region for clean mobility
- must be non-taxable or have a family quotient (net taxable income/number of units) of less than €27,086
What does it entitle you to?
This assistance entitles you to a grant of €100.
To qualify, the electric bike must meet the following conditions:
- be an electrically assisted cycle
- Must not use battery lead
Good to know: if you have purchased safety equipment for electrically-assisted bicycle travel: helmet, protection kit, lighting kit, engraving, anti-theft device, etc., you can benefit from the "Safety Bonus", i.e. an extra €50 reimbursed by the region.
How can you benefit?

- If you are also applying for the "Safety Bonus", you must enclose the invoice(s) for the purchase of the safety equipment: the invoice must show the applicant's surname, first name and address.
If you wish to apply by post, you will also need to include the completed and signed form, which you can download.
