Electric vans: what are the advantages for deliveries?

As with combustion-powered vans, you can use a electric van to make your deliveries and reduce your carbon footprint delivery of parcels and services. Here are just a few of the advantages of using electric vans:

Electric delivery van: benefits for the customer

Making an environmentally-friendly delivery

When you make deliveries with an electric van, there's something called the environmentally friendly delivery. The aim of this new mode of consumption is to move around urban areas, with non-polluting vehiclessuch as cycling, mountain biking electric cars or natural gas vans. With environmentally-friendly delivery, you can offer your customers a service that's tailored to their needs, fast and efficient.

Access to restricted areas

Moving around with clean vehicles also means unlimited freedom of movement, especially in the EPZ which are becoming increasingly widespread. In addition, in the EPZs free parking spaces are available in most towns and cities. This will make it easier for hauliers to drop off deliveries with complete peace of mind.

Reducing noise pollution

According to a study published in January 2020 by AAE EuropaElectric vehicles are much quieter than their internal combustion counterparts. After all, air pollution has an impact on health, traffic noise also has consequencesincluding :

  • cause discomfort
  • sleep disorders
  • cognitive disorders

To reduce noise pollutionThe electric van can be an alternative for driving between streets without disturbing residents, day or night.

Electric delivery vans: benefits for the company

Working with an electric van for deliveries also has a number of advantages for companies, including :

Enhanced brand image

Electric vans for deliveries help to improve brand image by demonstrating a commitment to sustainability and pollution reduction. As well as guaranteeing access to city centres, which are often restricted to less polluting vehicles, their use demonstrates environmental awareness and a willingness to participate in the collective effort to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

Boost customer loyalty

As we can see today, online shopping has become part of the purchasing behaviour of many consumers. What's more, consumers are becoming increasingly aware of the environment and their consumption, whether through second-hand items or the choice of environmentally friendly delivery.

So by using electric vans, you're showing your customers that you're also environmentally aware, and in return, customers will have more confidence in you opting for this method of delivery. What's more, you're making customers more aware of the need to choose this type of environmentally-friendly vehicle, with no noise pollution.

Guarantee business continuity

As you no doubt know, electric vehicles are the future of mobility. What's more petrol and diesel vehicles will disappear completely by 2035 and reach a absolute carbon neutrality in Europe by 2050.

So going for an electric van will enable you to comply with the new standards and ensure the long-term future of your business.

Preserving margins and limiting costs

Having an electric vehicle for business purposes also allows you to keep your margin.

We are seeing skyrocketing price inflation at the moment, whether for the price of fuelenergy or for electricity. Having an electric van for delivery saves money, especially as logistics are a non-negligible expense for online retailers.

Financial assistance for the purchase of electric vans

Governments recognise the environmental benefits ofelectric carsand encourage their adoption by offeringvarious tax benefits and subsidies. These financial incentives can take the form of tax reductions, subsidies for the purchase or installation of a new car or a new car with a new vehicle.the installation of recharging pointsor even reduced electricity tariffs for electric car owners.
