Discover the Spectre

Rolls-Royce is entering the electric age with its very first clean car: the Spectre.

To give you an idea of its size, this 4-seater electric coupé measures :

  • 5.45 metres long
  • 2.08 metres wide
  • 1.559 metres high
  • wheelbase of 3.21 metres

The Spectre: a autonomy consequence despite the weight

Its range is fairly good for its weight of over three tonnes, with 520 km according to WLTP certification cycleand an average consumption of 21.5 kWh/100 km approx.. On the technical side, the Spectre is powered by a 430 kW engine, giving 520 bhp and 900 Nm of torque.

Enough to go from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds to reach its maximum speed, i.e. 250 km/h. With this performance, it will be easy to get around town, but will not be suitable for mountain roads.

Spectre design: combining electric power and luxury

What about the Spectre's design? Unsurprisingly, Rolls-Royce remains true to its brand image.

Inside, the Spectre boasts a luxurious, well-appointed cabin with illuminated surfaces, such as the 'starry sky' effect on the roof (the Starlight) and the interior of the 2 doors, which open in opposite directions. The fully digital instrument panel is on the driver's side, and even the passenger is entitled to a modern digital display.

Visually, the electric car's exterior features a yacht-inspired design. At the front of the vehicle, a steel radiator grille that lights up thanks to the 22 LEDS.

In addition to Rolls-Royce's 100-year history, this new electric car features aerodynamic 23-inch wheels to give it a sportier look and feel.

Why the name "Spectre" for the new Rolls-Royce car?

One might well ask why give the name 'Spectre' to a first electric car. As this electric car has a soothing, silent interior, and the name was chosen as a reference to ghosts and spiritual worlds.

In the words of Rolls-Royce Managing Director Torsten Muller-Otvos: "The advent of our first electric car at battery marks the beginning of a bold new era for Rolls-Royce. It is also the culmination of a long and painstaking process in which every element of the car's creation has been considered in great detail over many iterations." He also adds that this name is not really new to the British brand, but that this is the first time it will be used for a production model.

And the price of this electric car?

At the time of writing, the price of the Spectre had not yet been determined. However, according to the British manufacturer, the Spectre will cost between 344,000 and 462,000 as for the Cullinan SUV and the Phantom limousine. Regarding the first deliveries, this is scheduled for 4ᵉ quarter 2023.

What's striking is that the Spectre is already eagerly awaited by many motorists. In fact, it's more than 300 customersMost of them Americans, who ordered the electric car even before it was officially announced. It's a record and unprecedented for Rolls-Royce!
