Citroën Oli, reinventing the electric car
In the video posted on Citroën's Twitter account, we learn all the details about this new model electric carafter a message about excessive plastic consumption. The Citroën Oli is designed to be much more environmentally friendly. In fact, electric cars are already much more environmentally responsible than combustion-powered cars. However, for Citroën this is not enough. They wanted to reinventing electric vehicles by making them as light as possibleso that it consumes less.
This is why the roof and bonnet are made from honeycomb cardboard. And no, that doesn't pose any safety problems! This honeycomb cardboard is stronger than metal, so it's not only impact-resistant, but also rain-resistant, so you won't find any holes in your car's roof after a storm. This cardboard, lined with two thin layers of plastic, makes the roof as well as the roof of your car safer. the bonnet is stronger than metal. Enough to turn your roof into a dance floor, according to Citroën.
Let's continue with the challenge of being as light as possible, with seats designed in just three parts. The result is a seat that's both light and comfortable.
Citroën Oli, eco-friendly car first and foremost
With the Citroën Oli, we want to be even more eco-friendly. Every part of thisElectric SUVare made from recycled and recyclable materials, so they can be used over and over again. What's more, Citroën promises that every part of this car can be repaired and replaced as many times as necessary. So yes, the life expectancy of this car will be long.
The icing on the cake is that the Citroën Oli is designed to be accessible to all. Thanks to its very light and therefore inexpensive materials, Vincent Cobée, Citroën's CEO, tells usa fixed price of €25,000. It remains to be seen whether the price will remain the same on the day of release. However, at this price, we can expect Citroën to convert many people to electric cars. And what's more, it will offer you a autonomy of 400 km!
As for recharging, it is estimated that it will take just 20 minutes to go from 20 % to 80 %. This SUV will be equipped with a battery 40 kWh. Citroën has limited this electric car to 110 km / hour in order to keep in line with the concept of a low-consumption family car.

The Citroën Oli, a blend of minimalism and technology
Simple materials, simple appearance. Although the car has a very cubic exterior design, far from the cars we see every day, it remains very minimalist. Firstly, looking at the exterior, you might think it's just a three-door. But it's actually a five-door. These are opposing doors. In other words, the rear door opens in the opposite direction to the front door, which opens forwards. It also has a door for the boot.
Inside, we find the bare essentials. Four seats, a steering wheel and a few buttons for the air conditioning. There's also a phone slot, so you can connect your phone directly to the car and recharge it at the same time.
As far as listening to audio content is concerned, the vehicle has no integrated radio or speakers. The Citroën Oli has two slots in which you can place your speakers. We still don't know whether speakers are supplied with the vehicle.
Have you noticed the 90-degree windscreen and the tilted windows? This allows the vehicle to repel UV rays, helping to regulate the temperature and limit the use of air conditioning, which could reduce your range.
New car, new logo

In presenting this new electric car, Citroën is also showing off its new logo. A tenth change of logo and a return to the origins, since this logo bears a strong resemblance to the one designed by André Citroën in 1919when the brand was created. However, the logo has been given a more modern design, in red and black. A number of hypotheses have emerged. Is Citroën looking for a new image, or is it looking back to its pioneering days in the market, but this time for electric vehicles?
