Like many other towns and cities in France, Melun is also committed to the ecological transition, in particular by encouraging the use of electric vehicles for urban travel. Seine-et-Marne, the department in which Melun is located, is part of the Île-de-France region, which has the most charging points in France.
Although Melun has never had an electric car-sharing service similar to Bluecub, the town has nevertheless developed its recharging infrastructure. In February 2025, Melun had 82 electric charging points, including 2 fast charging points (over 43 kW). To meet growing demand, the Ecocharge77 network is actively working to expand this network, with the aim of having more than 300 charging points in the département by 2026.
The town of Melun, aware of the challenges of electric mobility, has integrated 62 charging points compatible with the Chargemap Pass, making it easier for users to access recharging facilities. This initiative is part of a regional drive to support the rapid growth in sales of electric cars and significantly improve access to recharging solutions for all users in the Melun region.

At the moment, electric vehicles are still in full expansion, but many users are finding it difficult to find charging stations: either because there are no more spaces available, or because the charging system is not adapted to their vehicle.
The solution to this problem is to install a charging point directly in your home.
First of all, having a charging point at home means you can charge your vehicle freely. From home, you can charge your vehicle at any time and be free to go about your business.
This means you won't be dependent on charging stations in public car parks.

These elements protect and withstand particular conditions, such as the risk of the charging point overheating or potential short circuits. Its circuit breakers and differential switches will enable you to protect people and equipment.
In fact, we strongly advise against regularly recharging your electric vehicle using a standard 10 A socket, to avoid any risk of overheating the components and causing a fire.
Secondly, there are environmental reasons for installing a charging point. From your home, the charging points will enhance the value of your building or residence. This will attract potential buyers and tenants for future sales of the property.
In addition to having a charging point at home, if you install photovoltaic panelsYou'll be able to recharge your vehicle and use 100 % of the sustainable energy from these panels. So these actions represent an impact towards more sustainable mobility.
