The CCS combo socket is the popularised name given to a type of charging socket for electric vehicles.
The Combo CCS (combined charging system) socket comes in the form of two sockets, the first at the top - a round type 2 connector (for alternating current) - and the second for fast charging (direct current).
Its name simply reflects this double juggling act between alternating and direct current.
It comes from American and European companies.
