30 % of French people are thinking about buying an electric car

Are the French increasingly attracted to electric cars? According to a survey published by the Odoxa30 % are considering buying an electric car. This survey reveals that higher cost of an electric vehicle compared with an internal combustion car, the lack ofautonomy  and a too few charging points are the main obstacles to the purchase of a electric car. Price is a barrier for 72 % of the French, theautonomy limited for 53 % of them, and 37 % are resistant to the few charging stations currently available. The survey also revealed that 54 % of French people plan to buy a hybrid model. It's an interesting statistic that demonstrates the French people's interest in a new mode of transport, as well as their ecological awareness.

This study carried out on Internet survey in early October of a sample of 1,000 French people and 304 technology professionalsThe European Commission's Digital Agenda and Innovation Strategy highlights the fact that only 12 % of French people say they are "attached" to combustion-powered vehicles. The state aidsuch as environmental bonus and the conversion premiumThese are all arguments that encourage them to take the plunge. They are well aware of the the advantages that electric cars can offer over combustion-powered cars (silence, driving comfort, ease of maintenance, reduced greenhouse gas emissions, no traffic restrictions, free parking). For 63 % of them, hybrid vehicles also seem to be an interesting alternative.
