Macan electric: performance and autonomy comfortable for all your journeys
Is the electric Porsche Macan as efficient as its internal combustion versions?

"With the Macan 100 % electric, we're aiming to offer the sportiest model in its segment," says Jörg Kerner, Head of the Macan range.
The compact electric SUV is equipped with the latest generation of permanent magnet synchronous electric motors (PSM), positioned both at the front and rear. This configuration guarantees optimum efficiency and perfectly controlled power. The vehicle's performance is backed up by impressive figures. Thanks to Launch Control, the Macan 4 can deliver up to 408 bhp (300 kW) in overboost mode, while the Macan Turbo can deliver up to 639 bhp (470 kW). Maximum torque is 650 Nm for the Macan 4 and 1,130 Nm for the Macan Turbo.
These values ensure exceptional sporting performance: the Macan 4 accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.2 seconds, while the Macan Turbo does so in just 3.3 seconds. Top speeds are equally remarkable, with 220 km/h for the Macan 4 and 260 km/h for the Macan Turbo.
The electric motors are powered by a battery lithium-ion battery located under the floor, offering a gross capacity of 100 kWh (of which 95 kWh is usable). This high-voltage battery is a central element of Porsche's new 800 V architecture, called Premium Platform Electric (PPE), used for the first time in the Macan. Direct current recharging can reach up to 270 kW, enabling the battery to be recharged from 10 to 80 % in around 21 minutes at a fast charging point.
When the vehicle is connected to charging stations At 400 V, a device built into the battery divides it into two 400 V batteries, making it easy to charge the two batteries in parallel at up to 135 kW, without needing an additional component to boost the voltage. In addition, AC charging is possible at up to 11 kW on residential wall-mounted charging points.
While driving, the electric motors recover up to 240 kW of energy. The Integrated Power Box (IPB) plays an important role in the efficiency of the new Macan models, while reducing weight and size. This innovative and compact IPB combines three essential components: the on-board AC charger, the high-voltage heating system and the DC/DC converter.DC (direct current).
In terms of WLTP combined cycle range, the Macan 4 can travel up to 613 km, while the Macan Turbo achieves 591 km. This performance clearly exceeds that of a Tesla Model Y, even though its battery is smaller (455-533 km WLTP), but they are slightly lower than those of the Mercedes EQE (518-639 km WLTP) with a 90 kWh battery.
Porsche Macan electric: A design with a difference

With its flowing, athletic lines, the new Macan inherits Porsche's design DNA. Its well-balanced proportions and sleek silhouette give it a resolutely sporty look and a strong character.
"For the new Macan, we have for the first time offered a 100 % electric version of a Porsche model with an already well-established identity," says Michael Mauer, Head of Porsche Styling.
The new Porsche Macan clearly highlights its brand identity. Its design positions it as a fully-fledged member of the Porsche family. The classic Porsche proportions have been carefully adapted to meet the challenges of an electric model, reinforcing its sportiness, modernity and dynamics. In short, the Macan remains the sporting benchmark in its segment, even in its electric version.
The Macan also has a dynamic silhouette, even when stationary, thanks to the slight slope of the front bonnet and the pronounced curve of the wings. Its dimensions of 4,784 mm long, 1,938 mm wide and 1,622 mm high give it an imposing presence. Wheels of up to 22 inches add to its robust appearance. The wheelbase has been extended by 86 mm compared with the previous model, to 2,893 mm, while the overhangs have been shortened, enhancing the vehicle's visual balance.
At the front, the headlamps are divided into two segments: the upper headlamp unit incorporates four-dot daytime running lights, emphasising the car's width, while the main light module, equipped with optional matrix LED technology, is positioned lower down. Porsche's characteristic plunging roofline flows seamlessly into the rear window. The frameless doors and sideblades add a touch of elegance and sportiness to the design. The wide shoulders at the rear give it a muscular appearance, while the Porsche monogram is now highlighted in the centre of the raised light strip.
10,000 orders for the electric Macan 100 %
After a successful 2023, with sales of €40.5 billion (an increase of 7.7 % on 2022) and 320,221 vehicles delivered, Porsche has set ambitious targets for 2024. The Porsche brand plans to launch four new models, including the electric Macan 100 %. And it seems that this small SUV is already winning over a large number of customers.
Porsche has announced that it has received 10,000 orders for the Macan. The first deliveries of the new model are scheduled for the second half of 2024. Production will take place in Leipzig, alongside its internal combustion engine counterpart.
Porsche targets 80 % in electric sales by 2030
We're aiming for 80% of electric sales by 2030″, says Marc Meurer, President of Porsche France.
The brand has already launched a number of successful electric models, including the Taycanand plans to launch more in the coming years. By 2025, Porsche aims to have half its sales of electric or plug-in hybrid models.
To reach its target of 80% of electric sales by 2030, Porsche will need to invest in the development of new technologies and in the expansion of its recharging network.
