The Model 3 is available from €44,990 in its first trim level. An electric car eligible for environmental bonus. It has a autonomy 491 km on the WLTP cycle in this trim level, and up to 547 km in the Performance trim level.

When it comes to recharging, Tesla is deploying a network of fast-charging stations, known as "superchargers", which enable the Model 3 to be recharged much more quickly. In fact, it takes 26 minutes to charge it from 10% to 80%.

What's more, the circuit mode available only in its Performance trim will allow you to reach a top speed of 225 km/h. What's more, thanks to its driver assistance system, the Model 3 will take the monotony out of motorway driving.

2. Tesla Model S

Like the Tesla Model 3, the Model S has all the features of a saloon car, and much more besides. What's more, it's one of the most efficient electric cars on the market.

Priced from €138,000, in its Plaid finish, the Model S also has a Performance finish, the price of which is not yet known.

The Grand Autonomy trim reaches 610 km of range in the WLTP cycle with its battery 100 kWh at full load. The Model S accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.2 seconds, and in 2.6 seconds in its Plaid trim, thanks to its 451 kW (1,020 bhp) engine.

When it comes to recharging Tesla Model S also has access to the Supercharger network of Tesla which allows it to load from 10% to 80% in 38 minutes.

3. Nissan Leaf e+

La Nissan Leaf e+ is the new long-range version of the Nissan Leaf. It is one of the most complete electric cars on the market. Nissan positioned itself very early on the electric car market with the Leaf. In fact, the first generations of Leaf appeared in 2010. This has enabled Japanese manufacturers to ensure the vehicle's successful development, making it the electric car of the future. Europe's best-selling car of 2018 with over 40,000 copies sold.

Available from €43,050 in its version 62 kWh. La Nissan Leaf is an accessible compact saloon with a range of up to 385 km, powered by a 62 kWh engine that produces up to 160 kW (217 bhp).

La Nissan Leaf e+ has been equipped with a host of new technologies, including parking assistance and e-pedal, which means you don't have to apply the brakes manually. There's also the Pro Pilot function, which is very similar to that offered by Tesla with its Auto-pilot driver assistance system.

4. Cupra Born

Cupra Born

Only appearing in the form of a Concept Car, the compact saloon has been available in Europe since 2021. While the Concept Car was due to be released under the name 'Seat el-born', Volkswagen, which owns the Seat brand, decided to withdraw the car and create a new one, under the name of Cupra. It was under this new brand that the Cupra Born was born.

La Cupra Born will be developed on the same basis as the ID.3, so they will share some common features. It will be powered by a 204 bhp (150 kW) engine, enabling it to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 7 seconds. It will also have a range of 550 km in the WLTP cycle, thanks to its 62 kW battery.

The price of Cupra Bornstarts at €44,500. However, its price should be similar to that of the Volkswagen ID.3.

5. Volkswagen ID.3

First revealed at the Paris Motor ShowIn September 2016, the Volkswagen ID 3 takes on the appearance of a compact saloon. It is the first model from the German group to be based on the new MEB platform dedicated to electric vehicles.

The Volkswagen ID 3 will be available in three trim levels and its aim is to propel Volkswagen to the forefront of the market. In particular, by making electric cars much more accessible.

From €46,100 for the Volkswagen ID 3 Pro Performance, the model's entry-level trim level, will be equipped with a 58 kWh battery capable of delivering a range of 424 km on the WLTP cycle. This compares with a range of 556 km in the Pro S from €49,250.

Inside, the Volkswagen ID.3 electric has two infotainment screens. The first is similar to that of the Volkswagen e-Golf providing traffic information thanks to its integrated GPS. The second screen is located in the centre of the dashboard, and is needed for navigation information. This screen can also provide a detailed analysis of the car and its driving parameters.
