2023 promises to be a year full of new developments for Honda electric cars, Indeed, the Japanese brand is aiming to bring out a number of models next year, including the Honda e:Ny1 electric.

Intended for the European market, this new model will be in direct competition with the Peugeot e-2008, Kia Niro EV, Hyundai Kona electric and also the Citroën E-C4, which belong to the same range.

Unfortunately for the more impatient among you, you'll have to wait a little longer, as the Japanese carmaker has yet to announce a launch date or a price.

The Japanese brand is launching the sale of its Electric SUVa first for the brand!

This manufacturer of electric vehicles has opted for a bold, futuristic design (illuminated fascias, monochrome bodywork, etc.) and premium finishes that reflect its image.

Also aimed at a family audience, it will delight them with its 2.85m wheelbase and its high level of comfort, with wide rear seats and a redesigned seat.

4. Nissan Sakura

By 2023, Nissan launches the Nissan Sakura electric. This compact little model is one of the mini-carsJapanese electrics.

Having trouble parking in the city centre? Don't worry, its small dimensions of 3.4 m in length, 1.6 m in height and 1.5 m in width will make it easy to park and get around.

This electric model is aimed at a wider audience who are keen to make the switch to electric, and who want to buy an electric car but have a small budget, so it is offered at an affordable price.

Despite its low price for a car in the electric range, the interior design has not been overlooked, with a comfortable and functional interior, plenty of storage space and a boot of over 100 litres. Available in around fifteen different colours, it's sure to suit everyone's taste.

Technology hasn't been left out of the equation for this little model either. Technophiles will benefit from Nissan Connect. This all-new system offers a host of features to make navigation easier thanks to its nine-inch screen, including wireless connectivity with Apple CarPlay. automatically synchronises with its device.

ProPILOT driver assistance technology for smooth, autonomous driving with a range of assistants to reduce stress and fatigue:

  • cruise control,
  • traffic jam assistant,
  • lane-keeping assistance
  • a prevention tool for crossing safety lines

Charging time for the Nissan Sakura varies between 40 minutes for a fast charge and 8 hours for a standard charge.

3 models are currently available:

  • the basic model S
  • G and X models equipped with LED 3 rear lights

The Nissan Sakura has a 20 kWh battery with a range of up to 180 km.

Exclusively for the Japanese market, they are available at a list price of €16,000 for the S model, €17,000 for the X model and €20,000 for the G model.

5. Mitsubishi EK-X EV

After the Mitsubishi I-MEV, launched several years ago, the Japanese brand is finally launching its second vehicle, the Mitsubishi EK-X EV electric. This compact little car is perfectly suited to urban areas and small roads.

It shares many of the same features as its close cousin, the Nissan Sakura, both on the more technical side with its 20 kWh battery, a range approaching 180 km and a speed of 130 km/h. Mitsubishi EK-X-EV is therefore positioned as one of the main competitors, not only in terms of its purchase price of around €17,000, but also in terms of its similar dimensions (3.40 m long, 1.48 m wide and 2 m high).

Despite its low price, this electric vehicle is equipped with its own system (MI Pilot) to :

  • parking management
  • staying on track
  • speed regulation

Its impressive manoeuvrability and a range of aids enhance driver comfort, giving you the ultimate driving experience.

Popular, it is currently only sold in the manufacturer's own country. This Japanese electric car offers some interesting specific features and may well be available on our market in the future, so keep an eye on it!

6. Nissan Leaf

With the Nissan Leaf 2023, the brand has sought to position itself in the market for Japanese electric cars It's a top-of-the-range model offering good value for money compared with its rivals. This model is available in 3 versions: SV, SV Plus and SL Plus.

The design has been revisited, notably the radiator grille, the moulding and the interior trim. The rear diffuser and the spoiler at the top of the tailgate have been modified and fitted with 17-inch aluminium wheels.

As mentioned above, Nissan Leaf 2023 electric offers 3 models in the range with different characteristics:

  • a 110 kW (147 bhp) engine and a 40 kWh battery for the SV version.
  • a 160 kW (214 bhp) engine and a 62 kWh battery for the SV Plus and SL Plus versions.

It's also worth noting the good range offered by the batteries of the 2 cars, 240 and 349 km respectively.

The electric car's interior has also been revamped, with black fabric for the SV and SV Plus electric models and leather upholstery for the SL Plus electric model.

Prices range from €42,000 (SV model) to €50,000 (SL Plus model), depending on the finishes and customisations chosen by the customer, a fair price for this model's range.
