Charging point with load shedding :
what is it?
While electric cars As the number of cars and hybrids on the road continues to rise year on year, the number of charging points in France must also keep pace, so that every motorist can recharge their vehicle in the best possible conditions.
A recharging point with load shedding is a system that reduces the electrical power of the point when it is not in use. This system cuts off the electrical current when the charging point is no longer in use.

Neat work, thank you very much 🙏
New hybrid car, so information about a charging point. After various conversations with competitors, the cost was around €2,000.... Then a call from BEEV, Sofiane explained that, given my hybrid vehicle, a simple reinforced socket would do the job and cost me much less. The only condition is that it has to be fitted by a professional. He could have sold me a plug like the competitors, but he didn't, which shows how serious the BEEV employees are. I did not do business with BEEV, but I would recommend 1000% for their reliability and honesty. I will definitely recommend you to my friends and family. Special mention to Sofiane... Thank you again for your professionalism (it's not commonplace any more... Don't change!!!).
Throughout the process of converting to electric, I benefited from relevant advice in line with my needs, clear explanations and close contact with Amine, which made every stage of the transition much easier. I would recommend Beev's advice and support.
Do you have a question about the load shedding system? Perhaps we already answered already answered it!
Having a charging point with the load-shedding system, can be useful if you want to reduce your energy consumption. Here are some of the advantages:
- A charging point with load shedding avoids over-consumption of energy. Because load shedding automatically adapts to all the electrical appliances in your home, the amount of energy delivered by the terminal will not be excessive.
- Load shedding helps to protect your home's electrical system and the user. When a large number of electrical appliances are switched on, load shedding will prevent power cuts and blow fuses.
- Your initial energy subscription will be maintained: as load shedding is programmed to prevent over-consumption of energy, you won't need to take out a more expensive subscription with your energy supplier.
In terms of operation, electrical installations are protected by a number of safety devices, in particular circuit breakers. These are useful for protecting you against overloads. When the power is cut off and the circuit-breaker trips, this happens when certain electrical appliances consume much more energy than expected.
To prevent this from happening, load shedding can be programmed in 3 different ways:
- Cascading load shedding This will gradually cut the power supply to all non-priority electrical appliances, to provide your vehicle with adequate charging power.
- Cyclic load shedding On this 2nd device, the terminal will cut the power supply to the various rotating circuits, so as not to penalise the same devices.
- Mixed load shedding : Mixed load shedding combines cascade and cyclic load shedding, as explained above. When cyclic load shedding is insufficient, cascade load shedding intervenes to transmit sufficient electricity and recharge your electric vehicle.
According to Article R. 4544-9 of the French Labour Code, any installation of charging point of more than 3.7 kW must be installed by an electrician who is an expert in recharging stations. The law requires these professionals to have undergone training delivered by a dedicated organisation (Qualifelec, etc.). IRVE).
When it comes to choosing an installer, Beev has already drawn up a list of quality, reliable professionals to guarantee you a trouble-free installation.
On most terminals, load-shedding modules are often optional, while on others the system is already integrated:
- La Wallbox Copper SB (with the addition of the PowerBoost module for load shedding)
- The EO mini pro 2
- eNext S (optional load-shedding module)
- Schneider EVlink Smart
- The Witty (optional module)
- Sobem sCAME Wallbox WB (with Power Management option)
In addition to intelligent load shedding, they are connected charging stations to the internet. This feature allows you to better manage your energy consumption in real time, and to control the duration and times of recharges remotely.
