It's a fact that electric mobility is transforming our daily lives and redefines the needs of motorists. With sales of electric vehicles skyrocketing and ambitious environmental policy targets, the demand for recharging infrastructure has never been so high.
Thanks to the installation of a fast-charging station DC (from 24kW up to 400kW) in a public car park, you attract new customersyou optimise user recharging (recharges in 15 to 45 minutes), you increase the visibility of your establishment on the platforms of motorists and offer a practical and modern experience. A strategic advantage for meeting the challenges of tomorrow, while generating a rapid return on investment thanks to the recharging charge.
The transition to electric mobility is supported by legal obligations that encourage the deployment of charging infrastructures accessible to all. For car parks open to the public, these rules are designed to support the increasing use of electric vehicles by guaranteeing an efficient and equitable network.

Installing a fast-charging station makes your car park visible on platforms dedicated to electric motorists, such as Chargemap or other location tools. This will enable you to attract new customers looking for practical solutions for recharging their vehicles on the move.
Thanks to an integrated monitoring system, you can charge for recharging sessions at the rate of your choice. You offer a premium service while generating additional revenue and controlling your margins.
Fast-charging stations, with outputs ranging from 24kW to 400kW, attract a steady stream of users, boosting your profitability. Their ability to offer recharging in a short space of time encourages frequent use, accelerating the return on your investment.
The country now has 154,694 recharging points open to the public (figures as at 31 January 2024 from Avere-France), including :
The distribution of load types reflects the diversity of user needs:
Note that the availability rate for fast-charging stations is as follows (December 2024 figures from Avere-France):
What's more, the French government is maintaining its ambition with a target of 400,000 public charging points by 2030. Particular emphasis is placed on deployment of fast-charging stationswith the aim of installing one every 60 km on main roads.
Nevertheless, the territorial network still has a number of weaknesses.major disparities. Urban areas are generally well equipped (in particular with Île-de-Francewith a significant concentration of 26,538 recharging pointsfollowed by the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes cash 18,401 recharging points and the New Aquitaine with 15,333 recharging points), while the rural and suburban areas remain less well served. This situation creates " white zones "which complicate long-distance journeys.
What's more, the tariff transparency and terms of payment is a major challenge. Visit prices vary between operators, and certain limits do not apply. do not yet offer payment by bank cardcreating confusion for users.
Finally, although the number of fast charging stations has increased significantly (18% network by 2024 against 9% in 2022), problems persist:

Do you have a question about DC fast-charging stations? Maybe we've already answered already answered it!
Electric vehicles are recharged using 2 main methods:
AC Recharge (alternating current)
The electrical grid supplies alternating current, which has to be converted to direct current by the vehicle itself. This conversion, carried out by an AC/DC converter under the bonnet, lengthens the charging time but allows power levels of up to 43 kW to be achieved.
DC recharging
The DC terminals directly integrate the inverter and deliver direct current to the battery. This method enables fast to ultra-fast recharging of up to 350 kW, ideal for short stops on long journeys.
There are several ways of monetising recharging:
The monitoring tools ensure the visibility of your terminal on platforms used by electric motorists, by integrating it into interoperability networks such as Chargemap or Road.
This attracts more users and optimises the use of your infrastructure.
DC fast-charging stations are mainly equipped with 2 types of connectors:
When installing a DC terminal, we recommend opting for a configuration that includes at least one CCS connector to maximise compatibility with current and future electric vehicles.
A private company can offer a concession model to landowners for the installation of fast-charging stations. Under this model, the investor takes charge of the entire project, including :
In return, the landowner provides a set number of parking spaces and receives :
This model makes it possible to develop a fast-charging network without any initial investment on the part of the owner, while at the same time enhancing the value of the site.
