About the Leapmotor brand

Leapmotor is a Chinese car manufacturer specialising in electric vehicles, founded in 2015 and based in Hangzhou. The brand has distinguished itself by its in-house development of key components, such as electric motors. In October 2023, Stellantis invested €1.5 billion to acquire around 20 %s from Leapmotor. This agreement led to the creation of the joint venture Leapmotor International, majority-owned by Stellantis (51 %). Leapmotor International has exclusive rights to manufacture, export and sell Leapmotor products outside China.
