Tout ce qu'il faut savoir sur la marque DS électrique
DS Automobiles is a French car manufacturer established in 2014. DS automobiles, originally DS line, represented the top of the range at Citroën. The brand takes its name from the Citroën DS, the iconic car of Charles De Gaulle, which was marketed between 1955 and 1975. DS is aimed at the premium segment and has made a name for itself in the automotive world thanks to the iconic DS3, launched in 2014. Today, DS is increasingly turning to electric power, with a growing number of plug-in hybrid vehicles such as the DS9 and the launch of the DS3 Crossback E-Tense in 2020. The brand's first electric 100% vehicle.

What are the future electric DS?
DS Automobiles has announced a complete transition to electric vehicles from 2024. Among the future electric 100% models, the DS 4 electric will be launched the same year. It will probably offer a range of up to 500 km, thanks to 50 to 75 kWh batteries.
Another striking model will be a new electric SUV based on the Stellantis STLA Medium platform, with a potential range of 700 km thanks to a 104 kWh battery. This model, often referred to as the DS 5, should mark a major step forward in the brand's electric range.
In addition to the DS 4 and this future SUV, the electric DS 8 is expected in 2025, a top-of-the-range model that will accentuate DS's premium positioning in electric vehicles.
Which cable should you use to recharge your electric DS?
To recharge an electric DS, you will mainly use a Type 2 cable for public or domestic charging points. This cable is standard for alternating current (AC) charging. If you are using a DC fast charging point, such as one on the motorway, you will need a special cable. CCS Combo cable will be needed. Most fast-charging stations are already equipped with this type of cable, so you generally don't need to bring one with you.
Finally, if you want to recharge at home using a standard socket, you can use a cable with domestic socket (Type E/F), but recharging will be much slower.
