Leapmotor is a Chinese car manufacturer specialising in electric vehicles, founded in 2015 and based in Hangzhou. The brand has distinguished itself by its in-house development of key components, such as electric motors.
In October 2023, Stellantis invested €1.5 billion to acquire approximately 20 % from Leapmotor. This agreement led to the creation of the joint venture Leapmotor International, majority-owned by Stellantis (51 %).
Leapmotor International has exclusive rights to manufacture, export and sell Leapmotor products outside China. Stellantis will distribute Leapmotor vehicles through its network, starting with nine European countries in September 2024. The first two models to be distributed will be the T03 and the C10. Some Leapmotor models will be manufactured at the Stellantis plant in Tychy, Poland.
Leapmotor aims to bring six electric models to market in Europe between 2024 and 2027, and plans to have 500 dealers in Europe by 2026.

What are the future electric Leapmotors?
Leapmotor, backed by Stellantis, plans to launch several electric vehicles in Europe over the next few years. At present, the T03 city car and the C10 family SUV are available, with respective ranges of 265 km and 420 km (WLTP cycle).
In 2025, Leapmotor will introduce the B10, a compact SUV based on the LEAP 3.5 platform, followed by a C-segment SUV. An electric compact saloon is also planned for 2026. The brand aims to launch a new model every year until 2027, diversifying its range to meet the growing needs of the European market.

In 2025, the purchase of a Leapmotor electric car in France will be eligible for a range of financial incentives. The ecological bonus offers up to €4,000 for low-income households, reduced to €3,000 for others, subject to eco-score criteria. Social leasing from €100/month is available to eligible households.
Faced with the possible loss of the bonus for certain models, Leapmotor is offering trade discounts, such as €1,600 off the T03. The aim of these measures is to maintain the appeal of electric vehicles despite the tightening of criteria for government grants.
