The city of Montpellier is currently developing a plan to speed up the city's ecological transition and encourage local residents to use electric cars. Electric cars emit no CO2 or CO pollution As a result, more and more cities are promoting its use through various action plans, making it more widely available.

Montpellier City Council is aiming to establish a ZFE-m (Low Emission Mobility Zone) to restrict the circulation of polluting vehicles and encourage the use of different means of clean mobility within the city.

Montpellier City Council currently wants to introduce the ZFE-m for the city's 814,049 inhabitants within the city's pedestrian zone. Montpellier City Council is also considering a second option. The creation of a ZFE-m in an extended perimeter within the suburbs as far as the motorway is possible, with access restrictions depending on the Crit'Air level of your vehicle.
