Who is SAIC Motor?
SAIC Motor (Shanghai Automotive Industry Corporation) is one of China's largest carmakers. It owns renowned subsidiaries such as MG Motors, Maxus or SAIC Volkswagenwhich builds Volkswagen vehicles specifically for China. In addition, MG Motors accounts for 70 % of their sales outside China.

Setting up a SAIC plant in Europe would bring many advantages, particularly if production is dedicated to the electric vehicles of the MG brandsuch as MG4the MG5 and the MG ZS EV.
First of all, this facility will make it possible to considerably reduce delivery times for European customers. At the moment, delivery times for cars not in stock are around 4 to 6 months. Producing these cars in Europe would make it possible to respond quickly to consumer needs and significantly reduce waiting times.

If this is the case, SAIC could counter this reform by offering competitive prices, which would enable it to remain competitive with European carmakers and continue to sell its vehicles at the best price.
