To install a charging pointit's very simple! All you have to do is analyse your needs and your behaviour. If you are a professional or a public institution, you may have a high demand for recharging. You should therefore choose fast-charging stations or even accelerated depending on the number of vehicles you receive per day. The more power your recharging point provides, the more efficient it will be at recharging. In other words, your recharging station will be able to handle more vehicles at a time.
For the individualsDepending on the power delivered by your home, we recommend that you install a 7.4 kW to 11 kW charging point with a load-shedding option. This option will cut the supply to the bollard if it consumes more energy than your home can deliver.
When it comes to choosing your installer, there are virtually no criteria other than certification. IRVE ! Your choices will depend on the technical expertise of the installer. That's what IRVE certification is for! It guarantees that the installer has been trained and approved by the government to install a charge point. And don't forget that IRVE certification is compulsory if you are eligible for subsidies. ADVENIR and would like to join the programme.
Just the thing, Beev can install your charging points and still have access to the ADVENIR programme! Yes, our installers are IRVE certified.
Montpellier and the Occitanie region have set up a scheme to support the installation of 100 two-way charging points. As its name suggests, the aim of this scheme is to install 100 bi-directional terminals that will be used to power fleets of professional electric vehicles.
What is a two-way bollard?
A bi-directional charging point is one that, as well as recharging your vehicle, also recovers energy from your vehicle. The vehicle owner can earn money by selling the electricity back to the recharging network.
The following are eligible for this aid
As you can see, private individuals are not eligible for this scheme.
It is important to note that conventional charging points are not eligible for the scheme.
To access this assistance, you will need to provide the following documents:
Finding a recharging point in Montpellier is easy! All you need is one of the applications that list charging points. We've listed them below:
Since 2018, Montpellier has been investing heavily in its network of charging stations to make life easier for residents who have purchased electric vehicles. More than 410 charging points have been installed in Montpellier and its suburbs. The charging points in the city's network are powered by guaranteed renewable electricity from nearby hydroelectric dams.
Montpellier wants to play a full part in the collective effort to decarbonise the French car fleet and adopt more environmentally-friendly lifestyles.
These charging stations also include a large number of accelerated charging stations supplying no less than 11 to 22 kW, as well as fast-charging stations providing up to more than 100 kW.
It's very easy to find them: you can of course use the applications described above, but if not, you should know that Montpellier has targeted some strategic locations:
On average, recharging an electric vehicle for 100 km costs €3, compared with €8 for internal combustion vehicles. Subscribers RÉVÉO will pay €1.5 per hour in addition to the €2 charge for connecting to the charging point and recharging at one of the charging points in the city. The annual subscription fee is €12.
The network is still accessible to users without a subscription, but at a much higher charge. Connection costs between €3 and €4, depending on the type of terminal, and recharging costs €4 an hour.
There are plenty of free charging points in Montpellier! It's very easy to find them, just go to applications such as Chargemapor PlugShare. They allow you to filter the charging points where you can recharge for free!
We recommend walking around shopping centre car parks, restaurants and hotels to maximise your chances of finding them, even if they are not listed.
The Occitanie region as a whole has more than 671 free recharging points, including more than 75 in Montpellier alone!
There are also more than 23 in Nîmes, 23 in Agde, 12 in Marseillan and 11 in Servian.
