Le Paris Motor Show 2022 has just come to a close in Paris. So it's time to take stock of this 89th edition of the legendary motor show.

This year, Beev was extremely fortunate to take part, and to be on hand alongside a wide range of players in the mobility sector. This major automotive event provided an opportunity to highlight the electric mobilitywhich was also one of the key topics of this 2022 edition.

And that's hardly surprising, given the promising growth the electric cars. With the number of electric vehicles registered reaching 194,730 vehicles in 2021electric mobility undoubtedly has a bright future ahead of it.

In addition, recent government announcements concerning the projected end of combustion-powered cars by 2035as well as the deployment ofstate aid for the purchase of electric vehicles, following the example of the environmental bonus and conversion premiumMany people, both private individuals and professionals, are thinking of a switch to electric.

Electrics in the spotlight

The 2022 edition of the Motor Show regretted the absence of many manufacturers this year, and mainly European ones. For example the total absence of German manufacturersThe show's four-year absence from the market shows that it has lost some of its appeal among carmakers.

Nevertheless, despite missing some major players, the event was a great success. resounding successwith admissions topping 400,000 throughout the week of the show.

What's more, electric cars were particularly well represented at this year's Paris Motor Show. Indeed, this 2022 edition marks a predominance of electric vehicles in terms of manufacturers' display models. Most manufacturers have decided to showcase their electrified models.
This clearly shows the the rise of electrics in the automotive landscape, and the desire of brands to focus on vehicles that are more environmentally friendly. sustainable and environmentally friendly.

More specifically, these include Chinese electric cars in the spotlight this year. With the launch of a number of new models in the electric range, the Middle Kingdom is hoping to make its mark and conquer the world market for electric vehicles, and especially in Europe.

Like BYD, which went on the offensive at the show, exhibiting its three new electric car models. The growing Chinese brand took the opportunity to present the BYD Atto 3, the BYD Han and the BYD Tang, each with its own profile and features to meet the expectations and budgets of as many motorists as possible.

China's rising star intends to make a name for itself in the electromobility market very quickly, and at the same time overtake its European rivals.

Jeep Avenger

Jeep has chosen to exhibit its brand new SUV city dweller, first electric 100% vehicle from the American brand, which made a particularly good impression at the show. The smallest Jeep Avenger in the catalogue, powered by a 115 kW (156 bhp) electric motor, boasts a modern design and an electrical footprint innovative.

This will appeal to fans of the American brand who want to switch to an electric model. It is due to go on sale in Europe in spring 2023.

BYD Atto 3

BYD highlighted its new SUV family electrical system called the BYD Atto 3. With its design sports aerodynamics and its relatively compactthe new Chinese electric car with a trendy premium is highly versatile.

As for the interior, the SUV has a centre console with a large multimedia touchscreen, making the cabin a real pleasure to be in. functional and comfortable.

Equipped with a 150 kWh engine, the BYD Atto 3 accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.3 seconds, making it a powerful SUV. This new BYD SUV will be available in two battery powers50 kWh and 60.4 kWh. What's more, you don't have long to wait, as the BYD Atto 3 to be launched in France from the end of 2022.

Peugeot e-408

With the arrival of eagerly awaited on the electric car market, the Peugeot e-408 was the talk of the town during the Paris Motor Show. And that's what it's all about!

The new electric saloon from the lion brand is aiming to surpass its predecessor, the e308, by offering an innovative electric 408. At least that's what we hope.

Despite the much-heralded announcement, we still lack many details about the technical specifications of the electric Peugeot e-408.

What's more, you'll have to be patient, because while the Peugeot 408 in both the combustion and plug-in hybrid ranges will be available from next year, the electric Peugeot e-408, 100%, will not, not marketed before 2024.

DS 3 E-Tense

The Motor Show was also an opportunity for DS Automobile to unveil its new DS3 E-Tense model, in its restyled.

Powered by a 115 kWh (156 bhp) engine, this new version of the electric car made in France will be available in five different finishesAll of which can be adapted to suit individual preferences.

Characterised by its agility and its refinedthis new model by DS electric embodies the top of the range French-style motoring.

Alpine A110 E-Ternity

For this fifth and final "coup de cœur", we invite you to discover a rather unusual model. In fact, it's none other than the iconic Alpine model that has been given a new look in its electric version.

This model innovative Alpine's electric vehicle has therefore required an adaptation of its internal architecture. The A110 E-Ternité therefore has a battery strategically placed at the front and rear of the passenger seat to ensure a smooth, comfortable ride. optimum balance and in order not to restrict its explosiveness.

And the gamble paid off! The Alpine A110 E-Ternité accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in less than 5 seconds. Its power and sportiness are the watchwords of this new electrified A110 model. This decarbonised version of Alpine is set to reinvent motor racing.

In addition, the Alpine A110 E-Ternité is also characterised by its sustainability. In fact, its bodywork is made from recyclable flax fibre, in addition to the fact that it is produced locallydirectly in France.

In conclusion

The Mondial de l'Automobile 2022, the emblematic event for mobility, was once again a resounding success at the end of 2022. It was an opportunity for carmakers to showcase their new catalogues of vehicles, and in particular to present their brand-new 100% electric models.

Many electric cars were presented for the first time at the show. This was particularly true of the emerging Chinese brands, which have made electric cars a central part of their strategy, with the ambition of becoming the leader in the electric vehicle market by 2023.

This promises the launch of a large number of electric vehicle models from next year, with a strong presence of Chinese electric cars ready to emerge on European roads.

It remains to be seen what the flagship electric models will be in 2023, so we'll have to wait and see...
