Invicta Pony: what's in store for this electric city car?
Better known under the name BAW Yuanbao, the Spanish brand Invicta is unveiling a new electric city car from China: the Pony. By way of background, this electric car is a version of the BAW Yuanbao from the Chinese group BAIC, adapted for the European market.
With this electric vehicle, it is clear that the Chinese car brands aim to conquer Europe. There has also recently been the arrival of the BYD brand, with its 3 electric cars: ATTO 3, HAN and TANG.
Pony features: beyond expectations?
Talking about its features, this little electric car has a 20 kW motor with 27 bhp, rising to 65 bhp in the Extreme version. Added to this is a battery with a capacity of 13.7 kWh, enabling it to cover 170 km in the Chinese cycle at a maximum speed of 100 km/h. In Europe, theautonomy is not yet officially known, but will be around 150 km maximum.
As for recharging, it takes between 6 and 8 hours for the electric car to be fully charged.

Electric Pony equipment
As for the interior, the Pony can accommodate 2 occupants with 4-position adjustable front seats, unlike the Chinese model, which offers a maximum of 3 seats with a rear bench. What's more, the Pony is available in 4 colours (pink flamingo, grey, green and white).
As you can see, the Pony is in direct competition with Citroën's AMI quadricycle.
The Pony also has a number of interior features, including :

- a 360° panoramic camera
- a charger
- a radio
- a slot for SD cards
- Bluetooth connectivity
Invicta Pony: good value for money?
Another point to note about this electric city car is its price. In China, drivers can buy the Pony for between 33,000 and ¥49,000or less than €6,500, in Europe you'll have to reckon with Approximately €15,595.
It's true that it's quite expensive compared to the Chinese car market, but at this price, the Invictus Poly is eligible for the 5,000 environmental bonus in France.

In conclusion
The arrival of this new electric car clearly shows that Chinese car brands are looking to make a name for themselves with European drivers. With its characteristics, the Pony could be one of the electric cars ideal for city travel.
We await the end of the Barcelona Motor Show in 2023 to see its debut in France and the rest of Europe, and to see if this electric car is worth the wait.
