If you live in Normandy, you may know better than we do that the region has done a great deal to promote ecomobility within its département. In fact, the region offers a wide range of grants, in addition to those from the State, for the purchase of electric vehicle or installation of recharging points.
This has worked out rather well, as Normandy is one of the best equipped regions in terms of terminals per inhabitant, with more than 2,200 terminals in service throughout the country. It can also boast one of the best equipped regions in proportion to its population. More generally, the region is committed to sustainable development, and all its charging points are powered by green electricity, such as :
The support provided by the region for the purchase of clean vehicles is also having an impact. In the first half of 2021 alone, more than 18,753 electric vehicles and plug-in hybrids were sold in Normandy. And this trend is set to accelerate over time, as more and more car brands are expanding into electric vehicles. Whether it's conventional manufacturers like Peugeot or Volkswagenbut also luxury brands such as Porsche or even Rolls-Royce. The company plans to launch its first electric model in 2023 and to be fully electric by 2030, like its British counterpart Bentley.
Normandy has a large number of second homes, which considerably increases the number of visitors to these seaside areas in high season.
Despite Normandy's charging network, its facilities are not yet sufficient to meet demand during peak periods. The region is facing a real headache, as the charging points, which are overloaded during the summer season, are not as popular during the rest of the year. SDEC accuses some motorists of "squatting to excess at certain recharging points while they are at the beach, thereby blocking recharging for other users.

Whether you're a public institution, a business or a private individual, you'll need to consider your needs before installing any charging points.
If you are a business or public institution, your future charging point will be used many times by all types of vehicle in a very short space of time. It will also meet a strong need, whether on the part of your employees or simply users. To meet this demand, we recommend that you use fast-charging stations ranging from 22 to 100 kW. This will ensure that electric vehicles circulate more efficiently than with charging stations ranging from 7.4 kW to 22 kW.
If you're a private individual who wants to recharge your vehicle overnight, for example, a simple 7.4 kW or 11 kW charging point will do the trick.
Another point not to be overlooked is the location of the terminal. If you wish to installing a recharging point as a local authority In Normandy, your recharging points are likely to be located outdoors, on the road or in a car park. In this case, your charging points will have to meet safety standards, to withstand impacts and weather conditions. To be placed outdoors, your charging points will need to meet at least the following standards IK08 and IP55.
Whether at work, in public or at home, having a connected recharging point can add value. Connectivity is an increasingly important part of our daily lives. Connected charging points are relatively expensive, but can be very profitable.
