It's a brand new saloon that Hyundai will be offering in 2023. Hyundai Ioniq 6. According to the manufacturer's news, the 100 % electric saloon will have a battery of 77.4 kWh with a autonomy 610 km on a single charge. Speaking of recharging, this hatchback will be able to rapidly charge this electric vehicle in 18 minutes from 10 to 80 %.  

What's more, to optimise the use and comfort of the vehicle, the IONIQ 6 is fitted with the latest equipment to delight motorists. Already present in the IONIQ 5 and the Kia EV6The IONIQ 6 also features V2L. This feature, which strengthens the electromobility ecosystem, allows charging in both directions: from the charging point to the electric vehicle and from the vehicle to the outside world. In other words, the IONIQ 6 acts as an intermediary between the charging point and other electrical appliances, to power DIY tools or a fridge, for example.

A price and release date have not yet been announced, but we'll know in the coming months.

Volkswagen ID.Aero

This ranking continues with a new electric saloon offered by the German brand to follow the ID range: the ID.Aero, also known as the ID.7.

The manufacturer's first electric saloon was unveiled at the end of June 2022. The 5-metre ID.Aero is expected to make its European debut in the second half of 2023.

With the appearance of a Tesla Model 3This future electric saloon will undoubtedly compete with Elon Musk's Polestar 2.

Peugeot e-308

For 2023, the French brand Peugeot will be offering an electric version of its 308: the e-308. This compact electric car is expected to have a 54 kWh battery and 156 bhp. As for the price, it's still too early to tell. In terms of the performance of this future car, it will be superior to those of the e-208 or even e-2008.

Release is scheduled for summer 2023 in July.

Citroën ë-C3 and the ë-C3 Aircross

Like all the other brands, Citroën is expanding its catalogue to include 100 % electric vehicles. In fact, by 2023, the Citroën brand wants to electrify 2 of its best-selling models: the C3 and the C3 Aircross.

On a more technical level, this electric vehicle is expected to have a battery with a capacity of 50 kWh, 100 kW for 136 bhp and a range of around 350 km.

Pricing has yet to be announced. However, it is expected to be affordable, at a lower price than theOpel Corsa-e and the Peugeot e-208.

To ensure that these 2 models of car are as functional as possible, the brand with the chevrons will probably equip it with its e-CMP electric platform.

Opel Astra-e

At a time when the brand is looking to electrify its electric vehicles by 2028, Opel will introduce the 6th generation of the electric Opel Astra 100 % in 2023, complementing the two existing electric versions. rechargeable hybrids (PHEV), already available in 180 bhp and 225 bhp versions.

For the moment, the manufacturer has given no indication of the technical characteristics of this future electric car. What we do know is that it will be based on the EMP2 platform.

Porsche Macan

It's also the Porsche Macan's turn to switch from petrol to electric power. Launched in 2014, this compact SUV will also be available in 2023 in a 100 % electric version. Thanks to the partnership between Porsche and Audi, the electric SUV will have a completely different architecture with the PPE (Premium Platform Electric), which will provide new features including:

  • air suspension
  • rear-wheel steering
  • the possibility of using fast recharging up to 350 kW

As far as power is concerned, there is little information at present. But according to Porsche, maximum power could reach 700 bhp (525 kW). With such a performance, the Porsche Macan could surpass that of the Cayenne Turbo GT, which offers 640 bhp and 471 kW.

While Porsche plans to stop selling the internal combustion version, it will continue to offer it for around 1 year, giving drivers time to make the energy transition.

Tesla Cybertruck

You've probably heard of or seen this spaceship-like car. This is the Tesla Cybertruck.

As a reminder, this unique model from the Tesla brand was due to be released during 2019, then postponed for the following year.

After repeatedly postponing the release date, on 21 July 2022 the Tesla boss announced the Cybertruck for the summer of 2023.

As for the technical side of the car, nothing is yet certain at 100 %, but Elon Musk will be offering 3 versions of this model with a range of up to 800 km. What's more, the Cybertruck will accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in less than 3 seconds.

What's special about this vehicle is that it won't have a door handle. According to Elon Musk, the Cybertruck will open and close automatically when the vehicle recognises the driver.

Smart #1

Smart #1 2023

In April 2022, the very first electric SUV from the Smart brand was unveiled: the Smart #1.

This Smart #1 offers a 200 kW electric motor placed at the rear of the vehicle, with 272 bhp. The battery pack has a capacity of 66 kWh and a range of between 420 and 440 km according to the WLTP cycle. In terms of dimensions, the SUV weighs 1,820 kg unladen, much heavier than the Smart Fortwo.

For AC charging, the Smart #1 would have a maximum charge of 22 kW, so could go from 0 to 100 % in around 3 hours. For fast charging, the SUV could have a maximum DC charge of 150 kW. So, from 10 to 80 %, the electric vehicle could recharge in less than 30 minutes.

Produced in China, the first sales are scheduled for early 2023, with pre-orders beginning in September 2022. The price of this electric SUV has not yet been announced, but 3 trim levels will be presented:

  • the Pro range (entry-level)
  • Premium range
  • Launch Edition

Sono Sion: a major innovation expected in 2023

Another new feature for 2023 is an innovative electric and solar-powered car: the Sono Sion minivan.

What makes it special is that the vehicle is largely fitted with solar panels around the body. According to the vehicle's manufacturer, this will enable it to travel an extra 112 km per week, all thanks to solar energy. What's more, in the event of bad weather, thanks to its 54 kWh battery with a range of 305 km, the vehicle will still be able to drive.

While the vehicle has already received 19,000 reservations, there are still a few stages to go before it goes on sale, including the crash test stage. As for the price, it will be set at around 25,000 euros.

Fiat 600

Largely inherited from the technical characteristics of the Peugeot e-2008another model of Electric SUV This brand new urban SUV developed by the Italian manufacturer is likely to be called the Fiat 600, although this name has not yet been made official.

Fiat's future electric SUV will take the form of a B-segment city SUV, with compact, versatile dimensions that are ideal for city driving.

In terms of specific features, the future electric Fiat 600 100% will be equipped with a 136 bhp electric motor and a range of up to 400 km.

As for the launch date, the Fiat 600 should be available at the end of 2023.

In conclusion

Year on year, we see that manufacturers are constantly innovating and offering motorists electric vehicles that meet their expectations, with the aim of becoming 100 % electric brands in the near future.
