5 reasons to install charging stations on your premises

company charging station

In an increasingly competitive environment, companies will do anything to stay ahead of the game. Today, however, we are faced with major climatic challenges to which we need to align ourselves.

In 2021, almost 316,000 electric vehicles and plug-in hybrids were registered, an increase of 65% on the previous year. As a result, demand for charging stations is also rising steadily. What's more, the LOM law stipulates that at least 5% of parking spaces must be equipped with charging stations. To help you understand the link between energy transition and competitiveness, here are 5 reasons why you should install charging stations at your company.

What is a charging station?

A charging station is a fixed device connected to a switchboard (or socket), used to recharge the battery of an electric vehicle or hybrid vehicle. A charging station may have one or more charging points, with a mobile plug at the end. This socket must be connected to the vehicle's charging base, in order to recharge the battery.

How much does a charging station cost?

On average, the cost of a charging station for a company is proportional to the number of charging points and depends on the structure of the parking lot. On average, two charge points in a parking lot without pre-equipment cost €10,000 if civil engineering is involved. Depending on your business, you may be able to reclaim VAT and apply for regional or ADVENIR subsidies. As a rough guide, a fast charging station will cost more. You'll also need to take into account the cost of installation (including the number of charging stations, their wattage, roadworks and the distance between the electricity meter and the charging station), as well as the contracts (supervision and maintenance) to which you'll need to subscribe, in order to access Advenir assistance.

The ADVENIR is a financing program to support the installation of charging stations for electric vehicles. Renewed until 2025, with a budget of 320 million euros, the program provides incentives to finance the extension of charging infrastructures. It has been extended to businesses, with a power limit for charging stations limited to 22 kW.

  • choose a certified installer,
  • call in a certified electrician IRVE,
  • comply with the specifications for each type of installation.

Renting terminals

If you're a small or medium-sized business, cash flow management is certainly not an insignificant issue. Leasing allows you to control your working capital requirements, and spread out the monthly payments in the same way as leasing.

Beev is the exclusive provider of rental charging stations

  • LOA (lease with purchase option),
  • long-term leasing.

Rental of recharging stations is aimed at private companies for amounts over €5,000 excluding VAT, subject to approval by a financial organization.

Whatever type of leasing you choose, you'll be leasing the terminals, with monthly payments due over a pre-determined period (36, 48 or 60 months). However, it's worth noting that when you lease, you also benefit from assistance and maintenance services.

For the installation of charging stationsyou'll need to contact a professional in the field. You can call on IRVE-approved installers approved installers (which will give you access to the ADVENIR bonus).

Encouraging employees to make the energy transition

Increasingly, ecological considerations are a major factor in people's decision-making. That's why the installation of charging stations represents a considerable opportunity for your company. Imagine that your customers or employees want to drive their electric car without worrying about charging it. An employee who works for a company that cares about the environment will be more loyal to that company. According to a study by EVBOXtwo out of three electric car drivers would like to see charging stations installed at their place of work.

In order to offer your employees high-performance recharging solutions, Beev offers you its supervision system.

The supervision system

First of all, to benefit from the ADVENIR grant, you need to adopt a supervision and maintenance system.

To make things easier for you, Beev offers you a maintenance contract including :

  • 24/7 assistance
  • Troubleshooting Hotline
  • an annual inspection of the charging stations.

You will also have access to supervision, which includes :

  • an RFID identification card
  • instant credit card payment
  • supervision software
  • integrated 3G communication.

As a result, your infrastructures benefit from constant maintenance and monitoring, to the benefit of your employees and customers alike.

They will have access to charging stations that are always operational. By choosing to work with a qualified installerAny problems your charging stations may encounter will be the responsibility of your installer, thanks to this contract.

Generate additional income

A charging station can be used for many purposes. It can be used by hotel or restaurant guests who come to take advantage of the company's products and services, or by employees who wish to recharge their cars at work. In this case, the company can decide who pays for recharging and who doesn't. It's now possible to combine eco-responsibility and profitability! Find out how installing charging stations in your company can become a lucrative investment.

Charging is billable

If your activity involves an ERP (establishment that receives the public), it will make sense for you to monetize recharging. There are two options:

  • a general strategy, where the service is paid for by anyone who charges at your charging stations.
  • a stratified strategy, i.e. paying for the public but free for your customers.

When it comes to billing, you can choose from a number of different pricing options:

  • Consumption per time / kWh
  • Fee to unlock terminal
  • Parking fees

Depending on the flow of vehicles, it will be possible for your company to earn an average income and recoup its investment thanks to the supervision system described above.

What's more, you'll become listed on sites like ChargeMap, where anyone driving an electric car will see your charging stations and be more inclined to come to you to take advantage of your goods and services during their charging time. It's also a way of differentiating yourself from your competitors.

Feel free to consult our white paper for more details on financing your project !

Benefit from Beev advantages

Last but not least, there's the added benefit of being able to manage your accounts. By taking advantage of the solutions (LOA or LLD) offered by Beev, you can manage your pre-tax profits. In fact, you can reduce your pre-tax net income by booking the terminal rent as an expense.

As a result, you'll pay less tax and reduce your risk of debt. You'll find it easier to borrow in the future, while gaining greater accounting flexibility.

For all companies, brand awareness is essential. What if we told you that by installing charging stations charging stations for electric vehicles?

Consolidate your CSR policy

Thanks to your supervision system, you can collect data from your charging stations. This information will enable you to perfect your CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) policy. In compliance with data protection regulationsYou'll have access to your CO2 savings and kWh usage, which you can use to communicate your strategy. This feedback can also be used for future tax returns.

Since the PACTE law of May 22, 2019, every company listed on the stock exchange or with more than 500 employees and sales in excess of 100 million euros is required to provide an annual report called "CSR reporting".

Although this does not apply to SMEs and VSEs, it is strongly recommended that you provide your stakeholders with a CSR report. This will demonstrate your commitment to CSR to your employees and customers.
