Dacia Spring Road Test: Technology & Detailing
The interior and finish of the Dacia Spring are as low-cost as its price. Indeed, there are a few shortcomings: the steering wheel is neither height- nor depth-adjustable, the plastics in the cabin are hollow-sounding, and the seats cannot be lowered. Despite all this, the interior has been improved and is much neater than before, with plenty of storage space at the bottom of the doors and in the glovebox, which is quite deep. The touchscreen available in the Comfort Plus range will do the trick, giving a modern touch to the cabin, although it can be a little unresponsive at times.
Standard on this Dacia SpringIn addition to the Bluetooth, manual air conditioning, six airbags, four electric windows, speed limiter and automatic emergency braking. All good features for a Dacia.
Within this Dacia SpringWhile the hard plastics are obviously hollow and cheap-sounding, that's the price you have to pay for electrics at such a low price. Despite everything, we're used to sober, simple interiors from Dacia Hard plastics, a sober interior and basic buttons adorn the interior of the car, which makes do with the bare minimum.
Ot's a shame that only 4 people will be able to fit in the boot, when a small space between the two rear seats would have been possible. The fact that the boot can be folded down only once is another regrettable feature, but it does allow the boot capacity to be increased, from 290 litres to 600 litres once the seats are folded down.
