The Copper SB Wallbox and the Easee Home are capable of supplying power from 3.7 kW to 7.4 kW in single-phase. In three-phase mode, you can obtain a charging capacity of 11 kW up to 22 kW.

Connectivity: Wallbox vs Easee
By purchasing a Wallbox or Easee, you'll be able to benefit from an Internet connection directly on your charging unit. This connectivity will enable you to monitor your consumption and remaining charging time in real time from your phone. It also enables you to adjust your settings and make regular updates.
The Wallbox Copper SB offers various connectivity options: you can connect via Wi-Fi, Ethernet, 4G or Bluetooth. This diversity gives you the flexibility to link your terminal to your smartphone.
As for the Easee Home, it can also offer you practical connectivity options. You can get an Internet connection thanks to an integrated eSIM or via your Wi-Fi. An eSIM is equivalent to a physical SIM found in our phones, but this one is virtual, so you won't have to insert anything into your box.
Last but not least, you can easily control both charging stations via their mobile application Wallbox and Easee. However, at present, the application dedicated to Easee charging stations is not optimal. It still encounters a number of problems noted by users.

Wallbox vs Easee, which is the most reliable?
As we've seen in the previous sections, the two terminals are quite similar in many respects. But is one terminal more reliable than the other?
The Wallbox Copper SB has had more than enough time to prove itself to thousands of users, who are unanimous in their praise on its performance. It comes more than highly recommended with excellent reviews on the Internet, and our experts strongly recommend it for its value for money. What's more, the charging solution brand is a pioneer in the charging station market, with an an excellent reputation. It also continues to develop advanced versions of its products, with regular software updates.
On the other hand, the Easee is still in the experimental stage in France, where it can be found in very few homes at the moment. Electric car enthusiasts are also voicing their concerns about the reliability of this charging point on forums. What's more, an important piece of information about this charging box is that it doesn't come with an obturator - you'll need to get one before installation. The shutter consists of flaps or shutters located inside the type 2 plug contacts. These remain closed by default, preventing access to the conductive parts of the plug when no cable is inserted in the housing. However, to install this obturator, the installer will have to distort your charging box and consequently your manufacturer's warranty will no longer be valid.
The shutter is an important safety measure to prevent accidental contact with the electrical parts of the plug when not in use. This will reduce the risk of electric shock, especially for children who might push objects into the plug. What's more, not having an obturator in your socket does not comply with the IRVE decree or the NFC15-100 standard. This non-compliance means that your charging station will not be covered by your home insurance policy, and you'll have to pay any repair costs.
The IRVE decree regulates the installation of charging solutions in France. It guarantees the safety of users of charging stations in private and public places. The NFC15-100 standard, meanwhile, aims to protect low-voltage electrical infrastructures through strict rules governing the design, construction and maintenance of charging stations.
Banned from sale in several countries
The Swedish Electrical Safety Authority (ESV), also known as Elsäkerhetsverket Elsäkerhetsverket, has issued a report in which it bans the sale of Easee charging stations in Sweden and the Netherlands until a new decision is taken by the ESV.
This decision is due to the earth leakage protection present in the charging box, which is done electronically (by software) and not physically (electromechanically). However, the charging solution brand did not document this as it should have in the documentation on their charging station.
Earth leakage is an electrical problem that can occur when recharging your electric car if you don't have protection. This problem causes an intentional loss of electrical current to earth. This can be dangerous, as users can receive electric shocks by touching a metal part on the charging station, or damage the equipment or vehicle.
This decision is not final, and the ESV is currently reviewing its decision on the basis of the new report sent to it by Easee. If you'd like to find out more about this sales ban, Easee has published a press release explaining the problems encountered and the future of their charging stations.
Our findings
We can see that the Copper SB Wallbox is the obvious choice for a reliable and safe charging solution for your home. Its reputation and value for money make it the best option to consider if you're looking to purchase a connected charging station. What's more, there's a slight difference in price between the Wallbox and the Easee. However, the lower cost of the Norwegian brand is the price of a non-compliant and potentially dangerous charging point for your daily recharge.
Wallbox vs Easee: their prices
The price of charging solutions varies according to the model and the options you add, such as load shedding. This is an important option, as it ensures that the fuses don't blow when you recharge your electric vehicle, you should expect to pay 120 euros if single-phase or 196 euros for three-phase. As a reminder, load shedding is not linked to the charging station, but requires installation. It must also be indicated on a single line on your installation quote.
For our two charging stationsthe Wallbox Copper SB is €920, then you need to add load shedding if you wish, and the installation cost of €450 excluding VAT (VAT is 5.5%).
If you install the Copper SB Wallbox in single-phase, we therefore have : 920 + 120 + 474.25 = €1514.25 INCL. VAT
For the Easee Home, we apply the following calculation: 890 € + 120 + 474.25 = 1484.25 € INCL. TAX
Please note that the above prices are estimates only. The cost of your installation will vary according to the distance between your meter and your terminal, the power output and the options you choose.
The French government has introduced a scheme to make the installation of charging stations a little more affordable. You can get a tax credit of €300. This amount will be deducted from your taxes for year N + 1.

As stated above, this slight difference in price may be due to the fact that the Easee Home is unapproved and does not meet IRVE and NFC15-100 standards.

All in all, there are no major differences between the Wallbox and the Easee, apart from their aesthetics. However, it's important to note that the Easee Home has encountered problems in the Swedish and Dutch markets with ground leaks. Once the technical details have been resolved, this charging station will become an interesting option.
For the time being, if you want to turn to a charging solution that has already proved its worth with electric car drivers, we recommend the Copper SB Wallbox.
