Video: Charging your electric car in Paris

How do I recharge my electric car in Paris? Can I only charge my electric car at public charging stations when I live in Paris?

Today, the capital's two main networks of charging stations are Autolib' and Belib'.

Autolib' and Belib' are the two key players when it comes to recharging your electric car in Paris. In this video, we compare them with two electric cars perfect for the city: the Smart Fortwo EQ and Peugeot Ion.

Autolib' is a great way to recharge your electric car in Paris. Autolib' was a public self-service electric car-sharing service available in the Paris area. Now out of service, 1,000 charging stations have been reactivated by the Paris City Council with its Paris recharge service.

In Paris, you can charge up if you have an electric car, subject to a subscription and a card that must be visible on the windshield.

► 600€/year for professionals

⚠️ Please note that these kiosks are for charging cars only. Parking is forbidden under penalty of fines.

A second option for recharging your electric car in Paris is the Belib' service. Belib' is a public network of electric charging stations belonging to the Paris City Council. It enables you to recharge your electric or hybrid car more or less quickly, depending on the power level required by the user.

It costs around €15 to register, whether you're an individual or a professional.

Two rates apply for Belib' recharge card holders. For a 3KW recharge, it's free between 8pm and 8am any day of the week. For fast recharging, the charge is approximately €1 for the first hour, then €0.266/min after 1 hour.
