All you need to know about Hyundai electric

Hyundai logo

The man behind the Hyundai brand, Chung Ju-Yung (1915-2001), left his mark on his country's history. The son of peasants, he left his family at the age of 16 and, at 32, founded a company called Hyundai Engineering and Construction, specializing in automotive maintenance and heavy construction. After the Korean War, the Americans entrusted him with the repair of their military vehicles and the construction of army barracks. The sixties were a prosperous period for him. He was called upon to build a major highway in his country, in addition to shipbuilding, a field of expertise recognized by the Koreans. Several companies, such as Hyundai Electronics, were created over the years to support Hyundai's extensive development in various fields. As for the Hyundai Motors brand, it began operations in 1967 (the year of love and the Expo...). Six years later, the first 100% Korean car saw the light of day: the PONY. Over forty Hyundai models have since been developed, the most important of which are the Accent, Matrix, Elantra, Sonata and Tiburon. In 1998, Hyundai acquired its rival Kia, bringing a new level of quality to the brand's cars. Today, the two Korean giants are at the cutting edge of electric car technology, with high-performance, efficient models.
