Electric cars in Rouen

The Rouen metropolitan area was one of the first to install charging stations on its territory, and has been doing so since 2011. Since then, a substantial network of charging stations has been developed in the city, with the aim of encouraging users to switch to electric vehicles, while remaining as free as before.

In the same vein, the metropolis has voted' to create a Zone in Faible Emission (ZFE) in the center of Rouen, which took effect on July 1, 2021 and initially concerned only crit air 5 and 4 freight vehicles.

The purpose of the zone is to prohibit access to the most polluting vehicles in order to limit traffic in these areas. Since 2023, EPZs have been introduced in a number of cities..
