Autonomy

For both models, we can say goodbye to the stress surrounding the range of electric cars. So, of course, they are tied on range.

For Kia, the Korean manufacturer has made a point of making the Niro EV the only vehicle for families. In other words, it has been designed for both daily commuting and long-distance driving.

Who's the big winner?

Affordable, practical and high-performance, the Kia Niro EV is making its mark in the SUV market.

With a range that rivals that of theAudi e-tron and, of course, the Tesla Model 3, the Kia Niro EV is an excellent choice. It could even be the household's main car!

Despite a better-equipped Tesla Model 3, the Kia Niro EV remains a little more affordable, with a starting price of 41,990 (excluding environmental bonus) and a 7-year manufacturer's warranty covering the battery and electric motor.

Kia is one of the only carmakers to offer a 7-year or 150,000 km warranty in Europe. This warranty allows you to benefit from reduced maintenance costs. It also guarantees superior resale value, as it can be passed on to the future owner.

With an entry price starting at 44,990 the Tesla Model 3 assumes the role of a premium vehicle compared with the Kia Niro EV, which offers exceptional performance for an electric car. The basic vehicle comes with a 4-year or 80,000 km warranty. However, the battery and powertrain come with an 8-year warranty, reassuring customers of the durability of these components.

In conclusion

As we have seen, these 2 vehicles are totally different and do not meet the same needs.

While the Tesla Model 3 presents itself as a premium sedan with a high-performance engine, the Kia Niro EV is positioned more like a family SUV.

With both offering long autonomy, it's not really possible to decide between the two models. The choice will depend on your needs.

If you're looking for a more classic, affordable electric car with good performance features, the Kia Niro EV fits the bill perfectly.

However, if you're looking for more advanced technology and an engine that can compete with combustion-powered sports cars. The Tesla Model 3 is just what you need.

L'year 2022 will be the year of the electric car. Only time will tell whether Tesla and Kia will maintain their lead in the electric market.
