Electric cars in Lille

How can I buy an electric car in Lille? What assistance are you entitled to? How do you charge up? We've summed it all up in this article, so you can get a clearer picture.

Did you know? As of 2021, Lille's EPZ will be implemented, and cars with Crit'air 4 and 5 stickers will no longer be allowed to circulate in the zone. These measures will affect both private and commercial vehicles. In fact, 23% of the car fleet is affected, representing more than ⅓ of fine particle emissions from road traffic.

Lille's EPZ will be implemented from 2021, with a first phase of awareness-raising and a second of fines.

These measures will become increasingly restrictive over the years, so it's important to think ahead and buy vehicle models accordingly, such as electric vehicles.

How can I install charging stations for my electric car in Lille? How can I get help?

If you're buying an electric vehicle, it's a good idea toinstall charging stations at home in a single-family home or condominium. Since 90% of electric car recharging takes place at home, you'll need to install a "Wallbox" or wall-mounted recharging point that lets you charge at your leisure.

You can benefit from a wide range of grants for the installation of electric car charging stations.

The city of Lille doesn't offer any special assistance for the installation of a charging station, but you can still benefit from the national aids we've listed in this article: Regional aids for electric cars.

  • The ADVENIR program, which offers a reduction of up to €960 for an individual recharging solution on the road, for companies, public bodies and local authorities.
  • The CITE (Crédit d'Impôt pour la Transition Ecologique - tax credit for ecological transition), which reimburses up to 30% of the cost of installing a charging station.

To take advantage of this right, you need to contact your condominium corporation. You'll find all the information you need about the right to take, as well as sample letters, in this article.
