Mondial de l'Auto 2022: what to expect?

After a 4-year absence, the eagerly awaited Mondial de l'Auto 2022 is set to reopen its doors as usual, from October 17 to 23 at Porte de Versailles, to the delight of automotive enthusiasts and professionals alike. Beev will be present at this event, which will be under the banner of electrification, and electric vehicle brands will be offering a host of new products and innovations.

Renault back with a vengeance

Well established in the electric car market, the French brand of Renault electric won't be missing this event, and will be among the manufacturers expected at the show. Feeling nostalgic for the old iconic models? Renault will be presenting its all-new, revisited Renault R4. A more urban and futuristic version of the model is due to start production in 2025 at the company's production site in northern France.

Renault also aims to present its electric Kangoo E-Tech, equipped with a 90 kW motor and a range of 300 km. These are good characteristics for this electric vehicle, which is intended to be utilitarian and emphasizes practicality, with a length of 4.48 m long and 1.83 m high. Total load capacity is 600 kilos, with a towing capacity of 1,500 kilos with a braked trailer. Targeted at a mass-market audience, this model is one of the top-ranking electric minivans in its class and across all brands. However, there are no major interior changes compared with the French manufacturer's previous model. The cabin, dashboard and styling remain largely unchanged. Cargo capacity, at 3.9 cubic meters, is also similar.

For the moment, only the standard version of the vehicle is available, but an extended version will be launched at the end of this year.

Electrification in the spotlight

A key player in defending the interests of players in the electric mobility ecosystem, Avere-France is an organization dedicated to the development of electric mobility.The association, a recent partner of Beevwill also be present at the show. A stand will be set up to help visitors, institutions and professionals alike understand and appreciate the challenges of electric mobility. Foreign manufacturers on the offensive

Foreign electric vehicle brands will of course be present at the Mondial de l'Auto 2022, presenting their new models: 

Jeep Avenger

The American brand will present its all-new electric SUV with aggressive lines, positioned as a competitor to the the Citroën DS Crossback. Available from Q1 2023, the 100% electric version will boast a range of around 400 km.

Atto 3

BYD, the Chinese automaker little-known in France, is taking on the European market. At the 2022 Paris Motor Show, it will unveil its luxurious electric SUV, which combines performance and power with its 150 kW (204 hp) engine. The model's interior comfort and dimensions are similar to those of the Peugeot 3008.

ATTO 3

Microlino

This small electric electric city car and its appearance is reminiscent of the Citroën Ami. This city-friendly mini-model will be marketed at €12,000 by the Swiss brand, which is more accustomed to selling high-end vehicles. It will be capable of reaching 90 km/h.

Ora Cat

Still in the same range as the Micro-Lino, the Ora Cat will be presented at the show with interesting features and a promising quality/price ratio. Announced with a range approaching 400 km and advanced technology, it is positioned as a serious competitor to the other models.

Seres 5

The umpteenth Chinese manufacturer to take part in the Mondial de l'Auto, Seres is positioning itself as an electric SUV. Following the release of its previous model, the Seres 3, with a range of 312 km and engine power of 347 hp, has already been announced by the brand.

MG Motor

Already established on the French market, the brand will be presenting its new model from the SUV range at the Crédit Agricole stand. MG motor electric. More advanced and accomplished, the 100% electric Marvel R will have a range of 400 km and will be sold at €40,000.

Fisker

Previous models having failed to find their audience here, the American brand is back with a 100% electric SUV named "Ocean" in reference to the recycled materials used to make its interior from marine plastic waste. The electric vehicle has a range of 450 km and a price starting at €42,000.

In conclusion

The event promises to be full of surprises, including the presence of several Chinese manufacturers who intend to use the occasion to present their latest vehicles!
On the French side, Citroën will be largely absent, which will be to Renault's advantage, as they will be covering the show extensively.
