Support for the installation of charging stations

In 2024, companies in France will benefit from a number of attractive incentives to install charging stations for their electric vehicles. These subsidies encourage an environmentally-friendly energy shift.

For a start, the government has increased the tax credit for the installation of these terminals. Companies can now obtain a sum that considerably reduces costs.

Secondly, VAT for these installations remains at a very attractive rate. This means that installation will cost less, which is good news for businesses.

The ADVENIR program is another major asset. With an impressive budget of 320 million euros, it helps finance the installation of charging stations for individual solutions in apartment buildings.

Some local authorities also offer their own subsidies. It depends on the region, but it's worth asking around for extra savings.

Finally, for businesses, ADVENIR finances part of the cost of installing charging stations, with grants that can exceed €1,000 for parking lots accessible to the public.

Below is a more detailed table of current grants for the installation of charging stations:

Location Participation rates Maximum amount of aid per charge point Maximum amount of aid per charge point (energy management)

What are the tax advantages?

This year, companies will see significant changes in the way they are taxed for their vehicles, especially if they choose electric cars. In a way, it's as if the state is offering rebates to encourage the purchase of environmentally-friendly cars.

First of all, these electric cars are not taxed by the government. This is a great opportunity, especially if you're thinking of buying a brand-new car, or even a used one.

Then, the specificity of counting the costs of these cars over the long term is to divide the cost into small parts over several years. And if the battery, which powers the car, is paid for separately, you can also divide its cost. This allows you to spend less over time. When a company recharges its electric cars, it can recover the tax on that electricity.

For annual taxes on cars (company car tax, vehicle registration), which companies pay every year. If they own electric cars, they won't have to pay them.
