Electric vans: what are the advantages for deliveries?

As with combustion-powered vans, you can use an electric van to make your deliveries and reduce your carbon footprint of delivering parcels and services. Here are just a few of the advantages of using electric vans:

Electric delivery van: customer benefits

Eco-friendly delivery

When you make deliveries with an electric van, there's what's known as eco-delivery. The aim of this new mode of consumption is to move around urban areas using non-polluting vehicles, such as bicycles, electric cars or natural gas-powered vans. With eco-delivery, you can offer your customers a service that's adapted, fast and efficient.

Access to restricted areas

Moving around with clean vehicles also means driving without limits, especially in the EPZS s, which are expanding all the time. What's more, parking spaces are available and free of charge in most towns and cities. This makes it easier for hauliers to drop off deliveries with complete peace of mind.

Reducing noise pollution

According to a study published in January 2020 by AAE Europathe noise emitted by electric vehicles is much lower than that of their internal combustion counterparts. In fact, after air pollution, which has an impact on health, traffic noise also has consequences

  • cause discomfort
  • sleep disorders
  • cognitive disorders

To reduce noise pollution, electric vans can be an alternative for driving between streets without disturbing residents, day or night.

Electric delivery van: benefits for the company

Working with an electric utility vehicle for deliveries also has a number of advantages for companies, including :

Enhanced brand image

Electric delivery vans enhance brand image by demonstrating a commitment to sustainability and pollution reduction. In addition to guaranteeing access to city centers, often restricted to less polluting vehicles, their use demonstrates environmental awareness and a willingness to participate in the collective effort to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

Boost customer loyalty

As we can see today, online shopping has become an integral part of many consumers' purchasing behavior. What's more, consumers are becoming increasingly sensitive to the environment and their consumption of second-hand goods, and are opting for eco-friendly delivery

So, by using electric vans, you show your customers that you're also ecologically aware, and in return, customers will have more confidence in you opting for this mode of delivery. What's more, you're making customers more aware of the need to choose this type of environmentally-friendly vehicle, with no noise pollution.

Guarantee business continuity

As you probably know, electric vehicles are the future of mobility. What's more gasoline- and diesel-powered vehicles will disappear completely by 2035 and achieve carbon neutrality in Europe by 2050.

So choosing an electric utility vehicle will enable you to comply with the new standards and ensure the long-term future of your business.

Preserving margins and limiting costs

Having an electric vehicle for business activities also allows you to keep your margin.

We can see that price inflation is skyrocketing at the moment, whether for fuel, energy or electricity. Having an electric delivery van can save you money, especially as logistics are a non-negligible burden for the online retailer.

Financial assistance for electric vans

Governments recognize the environmental benefits of electric cars and encourage their adoption by offering various tax breaks and subsidies. These financial incentives can take the form of tax breaks, subsidies for the purchase or installation of charging stations, or even reduced electricity rates for electric car owners. Professionals can take advantage of these incentives to further reduce the costs associated with using electric cars:
